Assistive Technology

The Interagency Partnership on Assistive Technology and its Advisory Board are pleased to announce that NY’s Governor, David A Paterson will be welcoming attendees at the Expo! Nationally recognized as a leading advocate for persons with visual and physical impairments, he has demonstrated an ability to effect change at every level and has been a strong progressive leader for all New Yorkers.

“Technology Opens Doors” is scheduled for Thursday, May 15, 2008 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany, New York. The New York State Interagency Partnership on Assistive Technology and its Advisory Board first sponsored this biennial event in 1998.
This acclaimed event offers hundreds of exhibits and numerous workshops on assistive devices and services. In addition, the NYS Forum's award-winning IT Accessibility Committee will offer two half-day programs on web accessibility. In the morning session, presenters will discuss New York's accessibility policy and standard, and provide a demonstration of the Forum's popular Validation Tool.
